Indigenous Art and Culture Radio Producer

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced producer to create engaging content for ABC Radio's weekly program, Awaye. This program focuses on diverse and vibrant Indigenous art and culture, targeting national radio audiences.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, research, and produce pre-recorded program material that informs, educates, and entertains listeners.
- Line up guests and other talent, ensuring a diverse selection with relevance and appeal to the audience.
- Create original online content for the program, including updating websites and social media platforms.
- Operate digital editing equipment and production studios efficiently.
- Update knowledge of local communities continuously and maintain a database of contacts and networks.
- Provide ongoing support and feedback to the Awaye presenter on editorial and presentation issues.
To succeed in this role, you will have sound editorial skills, a good understanding of ABC Radio National's target audience, and experience operating digital broadcast systems and production equipment. You must be passionate about representing First Nations perspectives and comfortable working in a small team environment.
