Job Description

The Department of Education seeks a Project Manager to lead the planning phase of schools within the Flood Resilience Program.

The program aims to create stronger, safer and more flood resilient schools. The successful candidate will facilitate multi options analyses and detailed business cases in accordance with the Queensland Government's Project Assessment Framework.

  • Develop and deliver multi options analyses, Detailed Business Cases, and Ministerial Infrastructure Designations for the Flood Resilience Program unit.
  • Coordinate and lead teams of external consultants for delivery of the work within condensed timeframes.
  • Assist with procurement activities for the engagement of external consultants.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience on government infrastructure projects and in leading multi-disciplinary project teams. The Project Manager is supported by the Flood Resilience Program team with technical experts to support the required deliverables and duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain project programs to a high standard.
  2. Undertake project risk assessments to a high standard to ensure both project and corporate risks are captured and mitigated.
  3. Work collaboratively with other staff members and external consultants.
