Project Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the planning phase of the Flood Resilience Program. This program is part of a Queensland Government initiative aimed at creating stronger, safer and more flood-resilient schools.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive analyses, detailed business cases, and ministerial infrastructure designations for the Flood Resilience Program with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate and lead external consultant teams to deliver work within tight timeframes.
  • Assist with procurement activities for engaging external consultants.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder groups and agencies.
  • Provide project-specific advice to management and executive staff, and liaise with other relevant units as required.
About the Program

The Flood Resilience Team oversees and implements the program to inform an overarching infrastructure planning and design process, improving flood risk management and reducing flood impacts, including cost and time of recovery.

Requirements and Skills
  • Prior experience on government infrastructure projects and leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams is preferred.
  • An experienced project manager capable of overseeing multiple concurrent education projects within planning phases of project lifecycles.

This role requires a strong understanding of project management principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain high levels of communication and partnerships with internal units, external agencies and school stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
