The Flood Resilience Team, Infrastructure (Building) Services Division within the Department of Education oversees and implements the Flood Resilience Program that seeks to inform an overarching infrastructure planning and design process, improving the management of flood risk and reducing flood impacts, including cost and time of recovery.The Flood Resilience Team is seeking a Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning phase of schools within the Flood Resilience Program, including facilitating the three (3) core deliverables including (but not limited to);Preparing and delivering multi options analyses and detailed business cases (in accordance with the Queensland Government's Project Assessment Framework) for projects within the Flood Resilience Program;Obtain all relevant regulatory approvals for the project/s, including Ministerial Infrastructure Designations, development applications, or any other approval process required; andPreparing budget documentation and necessary funding approvals (eg: Cabinet Budget Review Committee submission) for the projectsThroughout the planning phase of the project, the Project Manager will lead both internal and external discussions, oversee the implementation of the project program and be the central point of contact for the projects.
This role requires an experienced project manager or an experienced senior project manager to oversee multiple concurrent education projects within the planning phases of project life cycles.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience on government infrastructure projects and in leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
The Project Manager will be supported by the Flood Resilience Program team with technical experts to support the required deliverables and duties.
Key responsibilities:Develop multi options analyses, Detailed Business Cases, and Ministerial Infrastructure Designations for the Flood Resilience Program unit with minimal supervisionCoordinate and lead teams of external consultants for delivery of the work within condensed timeframesAssist with procurement activities for the engagement of external consultantsCollaborate as necessary with internal and external stakeholder groups and agenciesProvide project specific advice to management and the executive, and liaise with other units of DoE as required.Work collaboratively with other staff members and external consultantsParticipate in the Flood Resilience Program team meetings, contribute to the development and application of policies and procedures that support the strategic direction of the department for a range of infrastructure resilience issuesBuild and maintain high levels of communication and collaborative partnerships with internal units and external agencies and school stakeholders to facilitate achievement of project objectivesDevelop and maintain project programs to a high standardUndertake project risk assessments to a high standard to ensure both project and corporate risks are captured and mitigatedTo submit your application, in strict confidence, please submit your resume in Word Format using the appropriate link quoting reference No.
