About this role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Aboriginal Workforce Manager.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, leading and managing Aboriginal-specific employment programs and initiatives across the department.
They will also deliver capacity building programs for leadership and management to support and develop Aboriginal staff, establish monitoring strategies to ensure cultural inclusivity, and build effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement Aboriginal employment strategies to meet targets.
- Lead and manage Aboriginal-specific employment programs and initiatives.
- Delve into policy development and implementation to ensure cultural safety and inclusion.
- Buid strong relationships with key stakeholders including Aboriginal communities and VPS organisations.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society.
- Proven resource and people management skills.
- Strong knowledge of, and demonstrated experience, working with Aboriginal communities and advisory groups.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of employment and/or policy strategies.
Requirements
A Certificate of Aboriginality will be required prior to an offer of employment being made.
