Strategic Policy Professional

We are seeking a strategic policy professional to contribute to the provision of expert advice on justice system performance, driving initiatives that enhance effectiveness and optimize public resource allocation.
The role will play a key part in identifying and developing improvements to overall funding frameworks and the evidence base for legal assistance services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to prepare budget submissions or other forms of project plans.
- Developing and implementing policy initiatives to improve performance and optimize public resource use.
- Working with partners to identify emerging and continuing legal needs and opportunities for building sector capability and developing innovative solutions.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Strong knowledge of social policy or associated fields and/or law.
- Experience in government policy development, preferably in Victoria.
- Excellent computer skills and ability to work with data.
About the Role:
This position is part of the System Governance Unit, responsible for providing high-quality advice to support our governance and administrative responsibilities.
The unit collaborates with partners across the justice system to ensure policy reform is strategic, relevant, holistic and people-centred.
