Job Brief

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Stream seeks a strategic Public Policy Manager to drive the body of work related to the Productivity Commission's second review of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about shaping public policy and making a positive impact in the community. As a Public Policy Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to influence public policy aligned with organisational objectives.

  • Monitor and analyse policy developments, assessing their impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Engage with government officials and stakeholders on commitments under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap and other policy issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Conduct research and analysis incorporating perspectives from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Prepare and present policy briefs, reports, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align policy efforts with organisational goals.
  • Deliver strategic leadership in driving projects while effectively managing a geographically distributed team.

Develop and implement effective policy development strategies to influence public policy and promote positive change.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Engage with government officials, stakeholders, and community leaders to build relationships and advance policy objectives.

Research and Analysis:

Communication and Reporting:

Prepare and present policy briefs, reports, and presentations to stakeholders and senior management.

Team Leadership:

Provide strategic leadership and manage a geographically distributed team to achieve project outcomes.
