Strategic Policy Manager

The Policy and Advocacy Manager will lead the development of strategic policy initiatives to advance MACS's goals across Melbourne. This involves engaging with government bodies, educational institutions, and Church partners to shape education policy at state, national, and global levels.
You will provide strategic advice to senior leadership on policy trends and implications for MACS and Catholic education. Your role will also involve developing advocacy initiatives, responding to parliamentary inquiries, and representing MACS in consultation forums.
In addition, you will collaborate with School Principals and teams to align advocacy efforts with internal policy activities. You will also prepare briefing papers, reports, speeches, and correspondence for the Executive Director and senior leaders.
This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to articulate the value proposition and mission of Catholic education and influence diverse stakeholders.
This is a mid-senior level full-time role in Education Management, requiring 5+ years of experience in policy development within government relations, public policy, or advocacy.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of the political environment affecting Catholic and non-government education in Victoria and Australia. They must also be adaptable to change and competing priorities.
