About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at Detpak Grocery and Convenience, part of the global innovator Detmold Group. Based in Sydney or Melbourne and reporting to the National Sales Manager, your primary focus will be on customer retention, identifying new customers, driving growth, and building relationships within the Petrol & Convenience (P&C) channel nationally.

This role is offered as a remote working arrangement with access to an office in Sydney or Melbourne as required. To succeed, you'll need drive, resilience, and a passion to pursue new business opportunities, along with strong motivation to exceed targets and satisfaction in closing sales.

As a key member of our high-performing team, you'll receive support, care, and ongoing development to ensure your success. Your specific responsibilities will include:
  1. Achieve sales budgets, new business, and retained sales targets.
  2. Identify, evaluate, and convert new business opportunities.
  3. Build strong relationships with key customer contacts.
  4. Provide innovative packaging solutions to our customers.
  5. Collaborate with the Products and Brand Team to implement business development and productivity initiatives across all independent supermarket customers.
  6. Plan and strategize to execute sales activity to drive increased penetration of product and/or services into the Petrol & Convenience (P&C) channel.
  7. Analyze market performance and trends to uncover growth opportunities and improve operational efficiency.

About You
We're looking for someone with experience in a similar role, ideally in the Petrol & Convenience (P&C), FMCG, Foodservice, or packaging industries. A strong understanding of the Petrol & Convenience (P&C) sector and brands across all operational levels is essential. You'll also need passion and commitment to identify and 'hunt' for new business opportunities, a proven track record in supporting tenders and negotiations, solid commercial acumen, and highly developed interpersonal skills.
