Civil Justice Lawyer Role

We are seeking a senior lawyer to join our team in delivering high-quality legal services to disadvantaged communities. The role involves acting as an advocate in complex civil law matters, particularly in mental health, disability, tenancy, social security, NDIS and fines.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in civil law advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution, and bring specialist knowledge in areas impacting people's fundamental rights. They will also understand the complex barriers faced by disadvantaged communities and be able to work respectfully and effectively across cultures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advocate for clients in mental health tribunal, VCAT and other courts or tribunals.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers.
  • Partner with health, social and legal services to address the intersecting needs of vulnerable clients.
