Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Officer to join our client, a Local Council based in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional advice and support on HR matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • HR Support: Provide timely and accurate advice on HR matters, including recruitment, employee relations, and industrial activities.
  • Policy Development: Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing HR system documentation, including policies, procedures, and position descriptions.
  • Communication: Ensure that HR system documentation is properly administered and communicated throughout the council.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Human Resources and/or relevant experience in HR, Recruitment, and Employee Relations.
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Computer literate in Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn systems and applications.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary human resource practices and current issues. A sound knowledge of Commonwealth, State, and Local Government Legislation impacting on HR, Recruitment, and Employee Relations (desirable).
Work Arrangements:
  • Contract Type: Initial contract until May 2025, with the potential for extension.
  • Hourly Rate: $42.93/hour + super for 35 hours per week.
