About the Role:

The Australian Defence Force is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team as a Maritime Human Resource Officer. As a key member of our workforce development team, you will be responsible for improving the workforce and environment for Navy personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement human resource strategies to improve workforce retention and development.
  • Provide expert advice on human resource policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Lead and manage a team of Personnel Administration Specialists to ensure effective delivery of human resource services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement workforce development programs.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform human resource decisions and strategies.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior officers and sailors on human resource matters.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in human resource management, preferably in a maritime or defence context.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
