About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting the APS Reform Taskforce, which has been established to lead the implementation of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide recommendations.

As a Team Member Human Resources, you will be supported to deliver a variety of HR functions based on the Taskforce's priorities and operational requirements. Your responsibilities may include the following:

  1. Collaborating with the Corporate Governance Directorate to effectively execute HR services, including the provision of expert advice and support on policies, procedures, applicable legislation, and contemporary HR best practices.
  2. Partnering with Defence Recruitment to manage end-to-end recruitment activities for the Taskforce, including support on recruitment and selection processes, liaison with stakeholders, and oversight of completion of recruitment gateways and onboarding.
  3. Updating and maintaining the Taskforce Organisational structure and providing assistance with interpreting and reporting on workforce data.
  4. Supporting the Taskforce Executive in secretariat responsibilities for APS Welfare Boards and the Taskforce's Honours and Awards Board.
  5. Performing a range of office management activities, including HR administrative support and responding to enquiries in a timely manner.
  6. Leading by example, embodying APS values and the inclusive, positive culture to which we aspire.
About Our Team

The APS Reform Taskforce was established to coordinate the implementation of Government agreed recommendations. The Corporate Governance Directorate provides critical corporate support services to all members within the Taskforce, from both a Finance and a Human Resources perspective.

The two teams operate in a collaborative space, maintaining high levels of customer service and providing outcomes and advice to a diverse and joint workforce of APS members and Reservists, legal secondees, and labour hire contractors.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have prior experience in a HR specialist or similar role. We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled, and client-focused professional who is keen to join our Human Resources team.

The Team Member Human Resources role will be supported to deliver HR policy and advice, support recruitment activity, and interpret APS employment frameworks for both APS employees. You will be highly regarded for your contemporary HR capabilities, ability to work in a team as well as independently, and your drive to contribute to overall outcomes.
