Risk Management Leader

Mission Australia is seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Risk Management Leader to lead and refine our risk and insurance strategies across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and oversee Mission Australia's risk management policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement risk management processes across the Housing and Community Services Leadership teams.
- Deliver training to Mission Australia staff to ensure risk management practices are embedded in the organisation.
- Ensure risk management policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and improved.
- Review, manage, and escalate risks identified across the organisation in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure the insurance framework is fit-for-purpose and implemented, including the renewal of insurance policies.
- Oversee claims management, including reporting and analysis to the Executive Committee and the Board Audit and Risk Committee.
- Develop a relationship model to identify and engage with key Mission Australia stakeholders, including Executive and Board members.
- Establish a stakeholder engagement plan with key stakeholders identified and a planned approach in place.
- Identify staff skills development and training needs and take appropriate action.
- Be responsible for risk management and bring subject matter expertise to the development and maintenance of the Mission Australia risk management system.
- Produce high-quality reports and dashboards for various Senior Leaders, Committees, and Boards.
- Lead the continuous review, refinement, and development of risk management processes to ensure consistency in operation and effectiveness in application.
- Minimum years of risk management experience.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Experience in managing insurance programs.
- Experience working in Community Services/Not for Profit Organisations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of relevant national and international standards and current best practices.
- Demonstrated success in collaboration and building strong, respectful, and robust relationships.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity.
- Demonstrate courage in leadership to confront issues and risks and escalate as appropriate in accordance with procedure.
- Attention to detail, analytical ability, excellent report writing, and relationship management skills.
