Making a real difference in the lives of Australians, we're proud to have protected them for over 135 years. As part of our Individual Insurance Distribution function, we're seeking a Business Development Consultant (BDC) to join our team as a phone-based business development manager.
About the RoleThis permanent opportunity involves proactively engaging with advisers and building strong relationships to grow our market share in line with our strategic plan. You'll use effective sales data analysis to inform planning, identify opportunities to advocate our proposition, and successfully win business.
- Work closely with the Head of Distribution and Strategic Account Managers on licensee engagement and execution of account plans.
- Plan and adhere to an 'Ideal week' in executing adviser interactions aligning to our Individual Life Insurance strategy (Sales process, territory management, focused sprints, calendar management, activity levels).
- Complete fact finding for all advisers you lead and build appropriate engagement plans based on their needs, including senior management and/or broader business engagement to strengthen these relationships.
- Drive collaboration and partnering with internal stakeholders across MLC Life to ensure consistency of adviser experience.
- Build the profile of MLC Life Insurance within your network of relationships.
- Adhere to CRM (Salesforce) data input & quality management standards.
- Proactively manage ongoing professional development and enterprise mandatory training.
We're looking for someone with experience in the financial services industry, preferably in Life Insurance, and a strong understanding of advice processes. This is a great opportunity if you're currently in client services or paraplanning roles and looking to extend your career.
You'll be a natural communicator with highly developed verbal, written, presentation, and influencing skills. You've demonstrated experience building rapport, and you pride yourself on providing exceptional service to your clients.
- A minimum RG 146 compliance is required.
- This role holds a License Owning Authority (LOA) qualification, and candidates must meet the requirements to hold one.
- Higher education beyond a DFP, such as ADF, Bachelor's degree in Financial Planning, or equivalent, is highly desirable.
With a competitive salary package of approximately $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on location and experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and advance your career.
