Job Title:
Legal Advisor for Corporate and Commercial Affairs

This is a challenging role that requires an experienced legal professional to support the business through providing high quality legal advice and guidance in key areas.

Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, delivering training and guidance to staff on legal and compliance matters, providing advice on regulatory compliance, and overseeing domestic and international insurance. Additionally, you will provide direction and advice on procurement processes, both private and government; draft internal policies to ensure legal compliance; manage commercial disputes and litigation matters; and work with external Counsel and experts where required.

As a key member of the global legal team, you will be responsible for supervising and managing a junior in-house lawyer who will report directly to you. You will also maintain and update the company's library of legal precedents and templates. This is a 6-month fixed term contract with the potential to go permanent.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of legal experience, preferably in house or private practice, and a current unsupervised practicing certificate in Australia. They will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. Experience in employment law and intellectual property would be an asset.
