The Role

This strategic leadership role is based in Geelong and requires travel across Victoria. As a key member of our team, you will provide authoritative advice to the Board and government stakeholders on matters affecting recreational fishers and anglers.

You will lead advocacy efforts on behalf of our members, manage financial, governance, and reporting obligations, drive delivery of our Strategic Plan and Funding Agreement with the State Government, build partnerships, sponsorships, and networks that advance recreational fishing, oversee staff and contractors, and represent us publicly.

About You

We are looking for a leader who has a proven ability to advocate and influence government, industry, and community stakeholders. You should have experience in financial management, governance, and reporting in a not-for-profit or member-based organisation.

Strong leadership, organisational, and project management skills are essential, as well as excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage across diverse groups.

Political awareness and the ability to navigate complex issues are also important, along with knowledge of recreational fishing, which would be highly desirable.
