The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Specialist to join our team at Northern Beaches Hospital. As a key member of our HSW function, you will play a critical role in embedding significant cultural change and driving innovation across our organisation. Working closely with our executive safety leadership team, you will collaborate with peers across Australia to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions that enhance HSW outcomes.
Your Key Responsibilities
- You will build capability and accountability for safety amongst managers, supervisors, and HSC members through coaching and influencing. This will involve implementing and embedding our HSW Management System and programs to drive visible and felt leadership.
- You will display and promote HSW practices through active field-based leadership and engagement. This will involve driving safe systems of work, quality incident investigations, and education, coaching, and monitoring programs to ensure our workplace remains safe and healthy.
- You will consult with managers, supervisors, HSC, contractors, and third parties on brownfield and operational safety issues. You will provide advice and assistance in identifying opportunities and solutions that enhance HSW outcomes.
- You will participate in risk management activities, including facilitating risk and workplace assessments, contributing to the development of SOPs, conducting control verification, participating in assurance activities, and leading LTI investigations.
- You will conduct performance monitoring activities, such as preparing site HSW reports, developing, implementing, and monitoring gap closure plans in consultation with the Site Executive Team.
- You will monitor and review Site HSW performance with the Site Executive Team to identify trends, hotspots, and areas for improvement. You will also celebrate success and recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to HSW.
- You will participate in regulator inspections pertaining to HSW and contribute to State and National delivery of strategic programs and initiatives, forums, and advisory committees to drive HSW improvements.

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience. Criteria
This position requires a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or higher and a minimum of 2 years' safety experience. You must be able to influence senior leadership and make things practical for frontline workers. You will need to be energetic, collegiate, and contemporary, with a passion for health and safety.
