Safety Management Lead

This role plays a critical part in our safety management function, responsible for ensuring the health and wellbeing of our staff and students.
The OpportunityAs Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals who provide guidance and support on health and safety matters across the university. You will work closely with faculties and divisions to develop and implement effective safety strategies, and investigate incidents to identify areas for improvement.
You will also be responsible for maintaining and reviewing our safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of safety professionals to provide guidance and support on health and safety matters
- Develop and implement effective safety strategies across the university
- Investigate incidents and identify areas for improvement
- Maintain and review safety policies, procedures, and protocols
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure positive safety outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Substantial experience in health and safety management, preferably in a higher education or related environment
- Advanced knowledge of Health and Safety Management Systems AS/NZS ISO 45001,45003
- Proven leadership skills, including managing workloads, setting priorities, and influencing and driving core outcomes in a complex environment
- Highly advanced communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- High level organisational skills with proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities, and meet deadlines
We offer a competitive salary package, ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a full-time, ongoing position based at our Kensington campus in Sydney.
