Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead our team in delivering a cloud-native Policy Administration System (PAS) for the insurance industry.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of legacy PAS and mainframe systems, with hands-on experience in migrating from Life/400 and similar platforms. They will also possess strong solution architecture skills, including E2E design, options analysis, estimation, stakeholder communication, and the ability to present complex designs to non-technical audiences.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional to join our team and shape the future of insurance operations. The role involves working closely with insurers to understand their product portfolios, legacy constraints, and target business outcomes; translating this information into solution blueprints and presales artifacts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading technical discovery, qualifying opportunities, architecting end-to-end target states, designing portfolio migration approaches, creating winning demos, and managing architecture risks.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, as well as a superior ability to understand, articulate, and address business issues, business drivers, and needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical discovery with insurers to understand product portfolios, legacy constraints, and target business outcomes
  • Qualify opportunities with Sales/Industry leads and contribute to Deal/Solutions Engineering forums
  • Architect end-to-end target states spanning business, application landscape, integration, information, security, and operations
  • Design portfolio migration approaches from Life 400, and other mainframe/legacy PAS to iPAS or modern target states
  • Create and deliver winning demos of iPAS, tailored walkthroughs, and PoCs of iPAS and other DB products
  • Own the technical sections of RFx responses, SoWs, estimates, scope, and assumptions
  • Manage architecture risks/RAID for presales initiatives, codify reusable patterns, reference architectures, and accelerators

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PAS domain expertise across Insurance, Superannuation, or Investment
  • Familiarity with multi-PAS consolidation drivers and regulatory context
  • Legacy PAS & mainframe proficiency: hands-on experience interfacing with or migrating from Life/400 and similar platforms
  • Modernisation and migration experience and proven methods for reverse-engineering rules, data migration at scale, and building target operating models
  • Solid Solution architecture skills including E2E design, options analysis, estimation, stakeholder communication, and ability to present complex designs to non-technical audiences
  • Exposure to Low-code (e.g., OutSystems) and modern integration/data patterns used in our iPAS
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, including senior and 'C' level stakeholder management
  • Superior ability to understand, articulate, and address business issues, business drivers, and needs
  • Australian or NZ citizenship or Permanent Residency/PR
