About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Qube. As a key member of our Safety, Health & Sustainability department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and stakeholders.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement effective safety management systems and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with site leaders and operations teams to develop and implement safety training programs and provide coaching on best practices.
  • Liaise with third-party representatives and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Analyze incident reports and conduct root cause analyses to identify areas for improvement and develop corrective actions.
  • Compile and report safety performance metrics and provide insights to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in OHS/WHS or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a heavy industry setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safety legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
