Occupational Therapist - Delivering Exceptional Care
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Darwin. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, culturally appropriate and effective Occupational Therapy services to NDIS participants.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Generalist and Specialist Services: Provide timely, culturally appropriate Occupational Therapy interventions to facilitate optimal health outcomes for clients.
- Facilitate Effective Service Delivery: Utilize appropriate information systems and maintain relevant statistics to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Continued Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and contribute to the growth of others within the team.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Work collaboratively as part of a small team with minimal supervision from the Team Leader, contributing to the planning, development and implementation of services with a customer-focused approach to continuous quality improvement.
- Liaison with Community Providers: Establish effective relationships with other community and health service providers in the region.
- Qualifications: Possess a degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent, which confers eligibility to the Australian Occupational Therapy Association and registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency).
- Clinical Expertise: Demonstrate proven ability to assess and implement clinical interventions in both generalist and specialist disability caseloads, adhering to Occupational Therapy practice standards and Code of Ethics.
- Technical Skills: Exhibit experience in using personal computer programs and databases.
- Interpersonal Skills: Showcase strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills to ensure effective teamwork.
- Multicultural Awareness: Display demonstrated awareness of multicultural issues and their impact on clinical practice, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
- Quality Improvement: Demonstrate ability to implement Continuous Quality Improvement strategies and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity Standards.
- Driver's Licence: Hold a current NT driver's licence or be able to obtain one.
- Desirable Qualifications: Possess experience in report writing and willingness to travel to remote communities.
