About the Role

Findex is seeking a dedicated SMSF Manager to enhance our vibrant team. This position offers flexibility in location, allowing for work from various offices.

The SMSF Manager will oversee a team of 4-6 accounting professionals, ensuring the delivery of precise superannuation compliance services to our clients in a timely manner.

In this role, you will mentor, empower, and support your team members to achieve timely, relevant, and accurate outcomes. This will involve reviewing team outputs to ensure adherence to accounting and taxation standards. You will collaborate with both internal and external financial planners, accountants, and other stakeholders to streamline workflows, aiming for optimal resource utilization.

Your Weekly Responsibilities

  • Organize workflow for the upcoming week, ensuring that team members are assigned tasks that match their experience levels while maximizing resource efficiency.
  • Conduct final reviews of processed funds in preparation for audits, adhering to Findex's best practice standards and procedures.
  • Guide and mentor your team to help them meet their objectives and continuously enhance the quality of our services while developing their skills.
  • Collaborate with the SMSF partner and other client leads to successfully achieve compliance and advisory outcomes that benefit both our clients and the organization.

About You

You are a professional with:

  • Demonstrated experience in SMSF Accounting.
  • Leadership experience in a public practice environment (preferred).
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to effectively oversee the workflow of your team.
  • A broad understanding of tax, accounting, and business matters.
