Visionary Product Strategist for Defense Technology

Job Description: Senior Product DesignerWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Designer to join our team. As a Senior Product Designer, you will own the entire lifecycle of design for mission-critical features and end-to-end workflows, making an immediate impact on real-world operations. You will design novel interactions that push the bounds of human-to-machine control, leveraging design thinking to solve challenging problems in complex scenarios.
Our design principles revolve around trust, safety, and intentionality, guiding our work, shaping feedback, and defining our standards. This role will partner closely with vertical teams and customers, touching on all-domain command & control, in-vehicle experiences, submersibles, autonomy, and more.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to product and design strategy direction and decision-making.
- Own all aspects of design execution from discovery to implementation.
- Use storytelling to align stakeholders with your design process.
- Play a key role in shaping end-to-end experiences for critical operator workflows.
- Maintain a high bar for craft, driving novel experiences at the edge, and bringing results back to evolve the underlying platform experience.
- Balance short-term tactical bets with meaningful progress towards long-term strategic pursuits.
- Help shape our ways of working as a centralized product design function in a fast-paced environment.
- 6+ years of industry experience.
- High attention to detail and mastery of visual & interaction design craft.
- Online portfolio demonstrating multimodal experiences.
- Ability to clearly articulate the why, process, and impact of your work.
- No prior defense experience necessary.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
- Facilitation skills to lead discovery workshops with customers and/or cross-functional stakeholders.
- Familiarity with leading user research sessions to validate your work.
- Opinionated about design operations and efforts to increase team efficiency.
- Demonstrated proactiveness in helping to shape team culture and mentorship participation.
The salary range for this role is estimated at $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on location and experience.
