About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and competitive candidate to undertake research that supports the research agenda of our project examining the efficacy of Forensicare regional forensic mental health teams as they are implemented across the state of Victoria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake research to investigate improved care continuity and coordination, diversion of people from the criminal justice system, reduced demand for costly and restrictive forensic mental health beds, collegial capability and capacity building, supported consumer recovery, and positive community perceptions of the regional forensic mental health services.
  • Collaborate with the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health (Forensicare) to deliver recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System.
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree honours and/or a research master's degree in psychological sciences, health sciences, population and global health, or relevant industry experience with a First Class Honours (average grade 80-100) or equivalent.
  • Meet the entry requirements for the relevant Higher Degree by Research at Swinburne University of Technology.
  • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative manner, with problem-solving and organisational capacities to manage task deadlines.
