Austin Health, a major provider of tertiary health services in Melbourne, seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist for its North East Continuing Care Service (NECCS).

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide high-quality evidence-based psychiatric services to consumers and their families or support networks.

About the Role
  • Employment status: Permanent Fractional Appointment period: Available 20 January 2025.
  • As the Consultant Psychiatrist, NECCS, you will lead a team of professionals to make a difference to consumers impacted by mental health difficulties.

This role is a unique opportunity to have a real impact in meeting the needs of one of our community's most complex and vulnerable cohorts.

About the Department

The North East Continuing Care Service provides assessment, treatment, and care to consumers in their local community through direct care services, case management, health promotion activities, and community development within a Recovery Focused framework.

Requirements
  • Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing, and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe, and quality care across the continuum.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training, and research.
