Engagement Senior Officer, National Indigenous Australians Agency

The National Indigenous Australians Agency is seeking a highly skilled Engagement Senior Officer to support strategic initiatives in the South Queensland region. This role plays a pivotal part in fostering partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, ensuring effective policy implementation that aligns with community aspirations.
The successful candidate will contribute to a culture that aligns with the Agency's values, fostering high-performing teams dedicated to achieving quality program outcomes. They will plan and coordinate the team's workflow, ensuring even distribution and management of priorities, and undertake planning and implementation of small-scale projects for the three-sub regional offices.
This role requires a strong understanding of the matters impacting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with these communities, and a commitment to continue developing cultural competency.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to a culture that aligns with the Agency's values and fosters high-performing teams
- Plan and coordinate the team's workflow to ensure even distribution and management of priorities
- Undertake planning and implementation of small-scale projects for the three-sub regional offices
- Effectively monitor and report on the sub regional office project performance and workload
- Provide technical and operational guidance and direction for IAS funded activities and inquiries from across the respective sub regional office
- Apply sound judgement and make evidence-based decisions aligned to the organisational operating environment and legislative frameworks
- Strong understanding of the matters impacting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Commitment to continue developing cultural competency
