About the Role
As a Support Worker within our shared living team, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live a life of their choosing. You will work in a team environment and independently, providing a range of services to assist clients to live independently, engage in their local community, and participate in meaningful opportunities.
This is a permanent part-time position, working in-house located in Terrey Hills. Shifts will include early morning (6am start), days, afternoons, weekends, and wake-over shifts. Flexibility to work a minimum of 4 x early shifts a week is a must.
Key Responsibilities
Support clients to live as independently as possible by assisting with activities of daily living, including menu planning, cooking, and cleaning. Supports may include personal care needs and assistance with medication. Support clients to live an active lifestyle and participate in their community through the delivery of person-centred programs. Work to behaviour support plans by utilising positive behaviour strategies. Communicate with families about clients' progress.
About You
You are passionate about making a difference and want to contribute to the lives of people with disability. As a positive and energetic person, you will demonstrate the ability to engage, communicate, and build partnerships with people. Experience in the Disability sector is essential. Ability to support others with personal and hygiene care is required. Personal qualities of resilience, empathy, and self-confidence are essential. High levels of enthusiasm, initiative, and a positive attitude while acting with integrity, honesty, and respect are required. You must have a driver's license and vehicle.
