Senior Compliance Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to join our team in Sydney, Australia.

About the Role:

This is a challenging opportunity for a compliance expert to lead the development and implementation of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Regulatory Compliance frameworks within our second line of defence payments team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building and maintaining compliance policies and controls, with a focus on AUSTRAC and ASIC/APRA regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with legal and public policy teams to interpret new regulations and undertake impact analysis to inform senior leadership decision-making.
  • Define compliance requirements and determine appropriate compliance policies and controls to meet local regulatory obligations.
  • Work closely with technology and operations teams to build and scale AML and payments-related controls.
  • Maintain a documented view of regulatory obligations to detect and respond to regulatory developments and issues that may pose compliance risk.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and business leaders with timely and actionable intelligence concerning regulatory regimes applicable to Amazon Australia.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 6+ years of compliance, audit, or risk management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience of influencing regulatory policy.

Benefits and Remuneration:

Amazon offers a competitive salary package, estimated at AU$120,000 - AU$160,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will have access to benefits including [insert benefits].
