About us
At Officeworks, we strive for greatness. Our customers, team members, and community are the heart of our organization. Our people have shown us that together, we can achieve remarkable things every day.
We're a fast-paced, innovative, and inspiring company with close to 10,000 team members and over 168 retail stores across Australia. We focus on delivering a wide range of products at low prices and exceptional service. We're about sparking new ideas, thinking outside the box, achieving goals, having fun, being rewarded, and supporting each other.
About the role
We're seeking an experienced event planner to join our team as an Event Coordinator Lead. In this role, you'll be responsible for planning and executing internal and external events that foster engagement and connections within our team, partners, and communities.
You'll work closely with our Internal Communications, Events, and Community Manager to develop event strategies, manage budgets, and coordinate logistics for events such as conferences, store openings, and team gatherings. Your expertise will drive everything from event planning and execution to budget management, ensuring that our events are fun, engaging, and memorable.
This is more than just event coordination – it's a strategic opportunity to think creatively, assess areas for innovation, and elevate our events to new heights. You'll have the chance to analyze current activities, identify opportunities for improvement, and explore ways to expand and enhance our events.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and management of events, including Officeworks internal conferences, Partner Forums, store openings, end-of-year events, team volunteering events, and other events as required.
- Conduct site visits, coordinate venue selection, and manage contracts with external vendors, such as decorators, caterers, and tech support.
- Partner and collaborate with internal stakeholders to define event objectives, formats, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Manage and maintain approved event budgets to ensure tight cost control and maximum value from external suppliers and third-party providers.
- Collaborate with internal and external communications teams to develop content and promote events.
About you
We're looking for someone with strong experience in event management (at least 4 years) and a proven track record of delivering exciting, engaging, and cost-effective events in a retail or large corporate environment. You should possess excellent project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
Able to successfully engage with diverse stakeholders and negotiate with external suppliers, you'll be a key player in shaping our events strategy and driving business growth. If you're proactive, results-driven, and passionate about creating unforgettable experiences, we'd love to hear from you.
Our culture
At Officeworks, we celebrate our team members' uniqueness and offer a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Our benefits include:
- An inclusive and diverse workplace culture.
- Flexible working arrangements to suit individual needs.
- A focus on wellbeing and safety.
- Generous discounts at Officeworks, Geeks 2 U, Bunnings, Kmart, Target, and Catch.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities to progress your career.
- An industry-leading Growing Families policy.
We're committed to providing a safe and supportive work environment for all employees and actively encourage applications from diverse candidates, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the LGBTQI+ community, and people with disabilities.
$90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
