Claims Consultant Job Description

At Auto & General, we're seeking a skilled Claims Consultant to join our team. As a Claims Consultant, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional claims service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Claims Process Expertise: Sound knowledge of the claims process is essential for this role. You'll need to understand the intricacies of insurance claims and be able to navigate complex cases with ease.
  • Negotiation and Communication Skills: Effective negotiation and communication skills are vital for building strong relationships with customers, third parties, and insurers. You'll need to be able to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Conflict Resolution: As a Claims Consultant, you'll need to be able to deal effectively and confidently with conflict. This may involve negotiating with third parties, insurers, or customers to resolve disputes.
  • Time Management and Decision Making: You'll need to be able to manage a portfolio of liability files, assess liability and recovery potential, and make informed decisions to drive effective outcomes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with the Insurance Contracts Act, Code of Practice, and other regulatory authorities is essential for ensuring compliance and maintaining high standards of service.
