About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced hospitality professional to join our team as a Functions Manager at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to our functions team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional food and beverage services that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Achieve financial targets and optimize revenue streams through effective budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Food and Beverage Operations: Deliver high-quality food and beverage services that meet the needs of our guests, while maintaining optimal client relationships.
  • Event Execution: Oversee the profitable execution of all corporate functions, ensuring seamless delivery and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Brand Management: Build and maintain the Delaware North brand and reputation amongst clients, promoting our values and services.
  • Forward Planning: Establish and execute effective forward planning to ensure all functions meet guest needs to a high standard within budget.
  • Team Leadership: Assist the Corporate F&B Manager in developing and implementing strategies for function delivery, while delivering strong people practices, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in large multi-function venues, with a track record of achieving financial and operational targets.
  • Financial Management: Experience managing large P&L budgets, with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
  • Team Management: Strong experience in leading large teams and implementing company standards across a multi-million dollar event venue.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor, train, and develop a team of hospitality professionals.
  • Service Focus: Passionate about further enhancing service offerings and continuous improvement, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Organizational Skills: High-level organization and time management skills, with the ability to work across 7 days as required.
