About the Role
As a Government Relations Officer at ASIC, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of strategic insights and counsel on Government Relations.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis to inform the development of policy briefs and other materials for ASIC's participation in Parliamentary Committees and Hearings.
- Collaborate with ASIC subject matter experts across regulatory, enforcement, and operational teams to develop clear and concise content that is relevant to Government.
- Provide expert advice on Parliamentary matters, including current issues, legislative reforms, and developments relevant to ASIC.
- Support the development of best-practice initiatives within the Government Relations function.
- Contribute to promoting understanding of Government Relations across ASIC.
- Support the implementation of best-practice governance and record-keeping mechanisms.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, law, or economics.
- Experience in understanding the protocols and sensitivities in a public sector environment and corporate arena, ideally in a regulatory environment.
- Strong understanding of the Parliamentary system and processes.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Experience working with subject matter experts to develop content.
- Experience with financial services policy.
- Strong relationship management skills, including experience influencing and advising executives and technical experts.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and display sound judgement.
