About the Role

As a Government Relations Officer at ASIC, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of strategic insights and counsel on Government Relations. Your expertise will be essential in assisting with the drafting and preparation of materials for ASIC's participation in Parliamentary Committees and Hearings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis to inform strategic decisions and counsel on Government Relations.
  • Collaborate with ASIC subject matter experts to develop clear and concise content relevant to Government.
  • Support best-practice initiatives within the Government Relations function, including advice on Parliamentary matters and legislative reforms.
  • Contribute to promoting understanding of Government Relations across ASIC.
  • Support effective governance and record-keeping mechanisms.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, law, or economics.
  • Experience in understanding the protocols and sensitivities in a public sector environment and corporate arena, ideally in a regulatory environment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, including experience influencing and advising executives and technical experts.
