About the Role

As a Government Relations Officer at ASIC, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of strategic insights and counsel on Government Relations. Your expertise will be essential in assisting with the drafting and preparation of materials for ASIC's participation in Parliamentary Committees and Hearings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis to inform strategic decisions and counsel on Government Relations.
  • Support the development of clear and concise content that is relevant to Government, in collaboration with ASIC subject matter experts.
  • Provide advice on Parliamentary matters, including current issues, legislative reforms, and developments relevant to ASIC.
  • Support best-practice initiatives within the Government Relations function.
  • Contribute to promoting understanding of Government Relations across ASIC.
  • Support best-practice governance and record-keeping mechanisms.

About You

We are seeking an individual with relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, law, or economics. Your experience in understanding the protocols and sensitivities in a public sector environment and corporate arena, ideally in a regulatory environment, will be highly valued.

Requirements

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and display sound judgement.
