About the Role

As a key member of the ASIC team, you will play a critical role in shaping the Agency's engagement with Members of Parliament, Federal and State Governments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic approach to guide ASIC's engagement with government stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the Agency's priorities.
  • Collaborate with portfolio agencies, policymakers, regulators, and industry bodies to identify opportunities for alignment and cooperation.
  • Strengthen ASIC's reputation as a trusted, modern, and efficient regulator through effective communication and engagement with government and industry stakeholders.
  • Support the development of high-quality executive briefings, working closely with the ASIC team to provide expert advice and guidance.
  • Ensure the implementation of best-practice governance and record-keeping mechanisms, prioritizing transparency and accountability.
  • Promote a deep understanding within ASIC of the importance of government relations and the parliamentary process, engaging key stakeholders to advance their knowledge and expertise.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in public policy, regulatory affairs, or a related field.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as communications, public relations, law, or economics.
  • Proven experience in understanding the protocols and sensitivities of a public sector environment and corporate arena, ideally in a regulatory context.
  • Strong knowledge of the parliamentary system and its processes.
  • Experience working with subject-matter experts to develop compelling content and messaging.
  • Expertise in communicating complex and technical information to diverse audiences across various platforms.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, including experience influencing and advising executives and technical experts.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate sound judgment.
