Job Title: Learning and Development Specialist

About the Role:

The position of a Learning and Development Specialist is to design, develop, and implement learning programs that support employee growth and development in a mining or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify training needs, plan, coordinate, and deliver specific training across the site
  • Create and review L&D initiatives, including presentations, session plans, learner guides, assessments, and procedures supporting material creation and amendment
  • Provide learning design expertise to subject matter experts for developing new operational training content and materials as needed
  • Analyze training needs using systems and data to meet competency and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate external vendors for on and off-site course delivery and assessment scheduling
  • Deliver inductions for new employees and contractors, including setting up online inductions prior to site arrival
  • Maintain availability and update course policy documentation, assessments, and schedules in the LMS (Workday Learning)
  • Support Operators and Maintenance Technicians on site to achieve learning outcomes associated with progression through training frameworks and monitor status

Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Learning and development experience in a mining or industrial environment
  • TAE40116 or TAE40120 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills for collaboration and relationship building
  • Effective communication skills, written and oral, with various audiences at different business levels
  • Excellent coordination and scheduling skills maintaining site compliance and supporting operational performance through capability development
  • Highly developed computer skills, including MS Office suite (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and understanding of learning management systems
  • Proven ability in designing, developing, and delivering learning content and materials based on training needs analysis
  • Demonstrated experience delivering operational courses, such as isolations, permit issuing, hot work awareness, dust awareness, fire extinguisher
