Job Role Overview:

The Team Lead provides strategic guidance and support to staff and residents. They model effective work habits, set a positive tone for each shift, advocate for residents, resolve complex or sensitive issues, respond to medical emergencies, and maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere.

The Team Lead ensures site safety when the Site Supervisor is not available. They foster a collaborative working team, encourage open communication, and handle incidents in a supportive manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to resident support plan development and delivery of essential services.
  • Perform regular wellness checks.
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as room cleaning and laundry.
  • Support residents in developing independent life skills.
  • Maintain accurate records for each assigned resident.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to mitigate challenging situations and maintain a safe environment.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies including overdoses.
  • Liaise with partner agencies and other professionals/support teams.
  • Oversee daily site operations, ensuring safety for all residents and staff.
Organization and Site Requirements:
  • Provide authentic leadership and support for the team and residents.
  • Delegate and oversee daily tasks effectively.
  • Report maintenance needs and requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with data collection for reporting purposes.
  • Be aware of critical incident report procedures and follow health and safety protocols.
Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of current social issues related to homelessness, mental illness, and addiction.
  • Training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approaches.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in an intense and challenging environment.
  • Effective personal boundary setting skills.
