Job Title: Housing/Shelter Team Lead

Housing/Shelter Team Leads are responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of staff and residents in a shelter environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team to ensure incident-free operations, responding promptly and effectively to emergencies.
  • Mentor staff to encourage a collaborative working team culture, with a focus on delivering high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent incidents, de-escalating situations when necessary.
  • Collaborate with residents to develop and deliver support plans, promoting independent living skills.
  • Conduct regular wellness checks to ensure resident safety and wellbeing.
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as cleaning and laundry, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Support residents in developing life skills, empowering them to achieve their goals.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including overdoses, prioritizing resident health and safety.
Qualifications:
  • A degree or diploma in a related human or social services field is required.
  • A minimum of two years recent experience in a related role is necessary.
