Job Summary

This role is a leadership position that oversees the daily operations of a housing/shelter team. As a Housing/Shelter Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to both staff and residents, promoting a safe and welcoming environment.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate initiative and creativity in their approach to problem-solving.

  • Assist with resident support plan development and delivery of services.
  • Perform wellness checks and assist residents with daily tasks.
  • Maintain an active file for each assigned resident and report maintenance needs in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
  • Provide authentic and engaging leadership and support for the team and residents.
  • Delegate and oversee daily tasks, including ensuring the safety and wellbeing of staff and residents.
  • Handle incidents in a supportive manner while de-escalating appropriately.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in a related human or social services field.
  • A minimum of two years recent related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Desirable Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of current social issues related to homelessness, mental illness, and addiction.
  • Training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approach.
