Housing Shelter Support Manager

The role of Team Lead Housing Shelter is a vital part of our organization, playing a key role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for residents. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, this position provides leadership and support to both staff and residents, modeling important work habits and setting the tone for each shift.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the safety and wellbeing of staff and residents, including responding to medical emergencies, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and handling incidents in a supportive manner. They also assist with resident support plan development, perform wellness checks, and maintain an active file for each assigned resident.
This dynamic individual will have knowledge of current social issues related to homelessness, mental illness, and addiction, as well as training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approach. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.
Duties & Responsibilities• Provide authentic and engaging leadership and support for the team and residents.
• Delegate and oversee that daily tasks are completed.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all residents and staff.
• Assist with resident support plan development and delivery of services.
• Perform wellness checks and respond to medical emergencies.
• Maintain an active file for each assigned resident and ensure timely follow-ups.
• A diploma in a related human or social services field is required.
• Minimum two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
