Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Technical Officer to join our Microbiology department at NSW Health Pathology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a range of laboratory investigations and tests, as well as technical tasks, to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory investigations and tests, including manual and automated procedures, to diagnose and monitor diseases.
- Conduct technical tasks, such as preparing materials and maintaining equipment, to ensure laboratory processes run smoothly.
- Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to achieve team goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement quality and service improvement activities to enhance patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, customers, and clinical laboratory staff to provide excellent customer service.
- Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in microbiology.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory information systems, patient systems, and quality systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
