NSW Health Pathology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Anatomical Pathology team at Coffs Harbour Base Hospital.
The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and supportive team environment, providing an excellent and integral service to the Mid North Coast region.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a range of operational laboratory activities, including coordination and provision of scientific and technical training.
- Review, develop, and quality manage laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards, and continual process improvement.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and laboratory staff to deliver high-quality diagnostic services.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, patients, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the laboratory, including anatomical pathology techniques such as microtomy, embedding, and allocation.
- Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to pathology from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services relevant to the laboratory, including anatomical pathology techniques.
- Customer-focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes.
- This position is eligible for a Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme allowance of up to $5,000 plus super per annum in addition to award entitlements.
