About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scientific Officer to join our team at Healius Ltd. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for:
- Performing manual and automated diagnostic testing to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Executing routine procedures from specimen reception to result execution for pathological diagnosis, including specimen dissection.
- Assisting with stock control and maintaining accurate records.
- Complying with quality control and assurance protocols to ensure high-quality results.
- Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment in accordance with established protocols.
- Staying up-to-date with current scientific knowledge and best practices.
- Participating in quality assurance activities, including routine and audit-related tasks.
- Contributing to the development of new assays and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
To be considered for this position, you will need to have:
- A Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent degree.
- AIMS certification as a Medical Scientist if your degree was acquired overseas.
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and skills within the medical laboratory science discipline.
- Sound knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and troubleshooting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and implement quality and service improvement activities.
- Strong time management, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to quality and excellence in all aspects of work.
- Willingness to adhere to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
- Positive attitude towards achieving outcomes and being a cohesive team member.
