Catering Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Catering Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing the day-to-day activities within the catering functional area. This includes supervising daily food preparation, production, and implementation of menus in line with safety and hygiene obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the weekly and daily cleaning schedules for all food and beverage locations to ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements and ensure accurate recording and reporting of meal volumes within required time frames.
  • Adhere to ISS and client policies and procedures in the workplace.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process for the catering area in liaison with the recruitment team.
  • Manage the site induction and onboarding of new employees to ensure they are appropriately trained and equipped.
  • Liaise regularly with relevant managers to ensure resourcing is maintained at the required levels to meet contract service standards.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate information for the monthly contract report and other reporting requirements.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the day-to-day operations to support frontline teams and supervisors.
  • Respond promptly to changing business requirements and attend to people-related matters as they arise.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated customer service focus with the ability to communicate with internal and external clients at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients and draft correspondence and documentation.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage workflow and priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to lead by example.
  • Flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced level in core Microsoft packages, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
  • Ability to determine resource and material requirements.
  • Knowledge of safety issues relevant to the trade and a strong commitment to safe working practices.
  • Able to pass an Australian National Police Check.

Desirable:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience within the food and beverage environment.
  • Good attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and within a team environment, including hands-on tasks to provide a quality service.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to effectively prioritize tasks.
