We are seeking an experienced and skilled Laboratory Operations Specialist to join our team at The University of Notre Dame Australia. As a key member of our School of Medicine, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education and research programs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for laboratory operations and a commitment to excellence. As a Laboratory Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical, operational, and administrative support for teaching and promotional activities within the school. You will oversee and manage day-to-day activities of laboratories to ensure effective and efficient operations.

  • Prepare, set up, and pack down laboratory/teaching spaces and classroom materials to support learning and teaching activities
  • Assist with coordination, organisation, and preparation of resources required for learning and teaching activities
  • Maintain stock, including storage and handling of hazardous substances in accordance with University and legislative guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and University policies and procedures

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience, or completion of an advanced diploma qualification and at least 1 year's subsequent relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated laboratory experience, preferably in tertiary or higher education sectors
  • Experience in the demonstration and use of equipment in a learning and teaching environment
  • Excellent operational, organisational, and administration skills
