We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our healthcare team as a Patient Services Assistant.
Working in this role, you will be part of a dynamic team in the Mental Health department at Casey Hospital, providing non-clinical services that support patients and their families.
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Conducting ward and department cleaning duties
- Making patient beds
- Operating lifting equipment such as bed movers and wheelchairs
- Providing assistance to nursing staff as required
- Transferring and cleaning ward equipment
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong commitment to teamwork and flexibility to adapt to changing shifts or cover staff leave at short notice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
- Attention to detail and a pride in your work
- Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
This position requires:
- A Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (essential)
- Previous experience in a patient services assistant role (desirable)
- An excellent understanding of patient identification procedures
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- The capacity to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying, and manual handling
- An excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
