Healthcare Support Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our healthcare team as a Patient Services Assistant.

Working in this role, you will be part of a dynamic team in the Mental Health department at Casey Hospital, providing non-clinical services that support patients and their families.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Conducting ward and department cleaning duties
  • Making patient beds
  • Operating lifting equipment such as bed movers and wheelchairs
  • Providing assistance to nursing staff as required
  • Transferring and cleaning ward equipment

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong commitment to teamwork and flexibility to adapt to changing shifts or cover staff leave at short notice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
  • Attention to detail and a pride in your work
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks

This position requires:

  • A Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (essential)
  • Previous experience in a patient services assistant role (desirable)
  • An excellent understanding of patient identification procedures
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
  • The capacity to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying, and manual handling
  • An excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
  • A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
