About This Role

The Quarry Supervisor position is a pivotal role within Holcim's operations, reporting directly to the Quarry Manager. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the successful execution of quarry production plans while maintaining a cost-effective and efficient process.

This dynamic opportunity offers a driven individual the chance to oversee the day-to-day activities of our Bohle Quarry, working closely with the Quarry Management team. Key responsibilities include supervision of staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Safety Leadership: Ensure adherence to company safety standards and procedures, leading by example and fostering a culture of zero harm.
  • Staff Supervision: Directly supervise staff and contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure effective completion of tasks and duties.
  • Production Planning: Collaborate with the Quarry Management team to develop and implement production plans, ensuring optimal efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintenance and Improvement: Identify opportunities for maintenance and on-site improvements, working with relevant stakeholders to implement changes and enhance overall performance.
  • Audits and Compliance: Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and business policies.

About You

  • Safety Passion: Demonstrate a genuine passion for safety, with previous experience in a zero-harm environment.
  • Flexibility: Show flexibility with work hours, including weekends, to meet the needs of the quarry operations.
  • Effective Communication: Possess strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders and customers across various levels.
  • Certifications and Qualifications: Currently hold or be willing to obtain G1, 8, and 9 certifications (S1, 2, and 3), with a Cert IV in Surface Extraction Operations being highly regarded.
  • Experience: Showcase demonstrated experience in hard rock quarry operations, mining, and/or fixed and mobile plant operations.
  • Process Knowledge: Display a strong understanding of hard rock quarrying and crushing processes.
