Regulatory Compliance Specialist

The Role

Candidates are sought for the position of Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our global Quality Assurance team. The successful applicant will be responsible for promoting regulatory compliance concerning the care and use of animals, and will administer and facilitate the Animal Ethics Committee efficiently and with a continuous improvement focus.

You will:

  • Undertake secretariat and administrative responsibilities of the Animal Ethics Committee Executive Officer
  • Administer, review and update procedures to facilitate compliance with animal welfare legislation and codes of practice
  • Deliver training seminars and provide expertise and advice on strict compliance with relevant legislation and mandatory codes of practice
  • Maintain animal ethics governance and database documentation in the Quality Management System
  • Ensure activities involving the care and use of animals comply with relevant legislation and mandatory codes of practice
  • Promote ongoing Regulatory compliance to the Code across the business
  • Help implement Reduction, Replacement, Refinement in all areas of animal use

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Veterinary Science recognised by the Veterinary Surgeons Board [Victoria] and understanding of Victorian animal welfare legislation and mandatory codes of practice.

A minimum of 3+ years of experience making detailed submissions to, and/or administering an Animal Ethics Committee, as well as 5+ years of experience in a Quality and/or compliance role within the pharmaceutical industry is required.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for this role, as well as a collaborative teamwork approach and experience working in a role with minimal supervision.
