Animal Health Specialist Opportunity
About the RoleThis is a key position that will play a vital role in enhancing the physical and emotional well-being of students at Fountain Gate Secondary College in Melbourne.
- The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote animal welfare and veterinary care.
- Develop educational programs focused on animal health and welfare.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate health and wellbeing into curriculum.
- Provide expert advice and support to students, teachers, and parents on animal health and wellbeing.
- Conduct workshops, seminars, and presentations on various aspects of animal health and welfare.
- Build and maintain relationships with local veterinary professionals and organizations to provide opportunities for student learning and engagement.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant curriculum and experience in responding to student learning needs.
- Experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student learning growth.
- Ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to inform teaching practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community.
- Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, with a commitment to reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.
- Qualifications in veterinary science or a related field.
- Proven experience in working with animals and developing educational programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
- Full-time position, 38 hours per week.
- Fixed-term contract.
